Thrown Together Productions

As more and more videos hit YouTube, I suppose I'd better  start cataloging these things. After finding out what I could do with the Wondershare video editor I started putting little promos together. I suppose you could say that the first example of what I mean by "promo" is a video that has alternate sound dubbed onto it, as opposed to a raw piece of film with its original sound.

I would catalog the development of Thrown Together Productions thus. You can argue that "Toft House - the movie" has to be included. As there is an updated version in the pipeline, I say no. It has to be noted that the name TTP was not adopted until later, although an early hint exists:

20171117
001 McCormick Something To Believe In v1.1
Video recorded at Hughie's PoW on October 31 with the studio audio overdubbed. Not intended as a serious release, more an experiment in sound dubbing. Having said that, it doesn't slip out of sync that much.
Availability: not circulated

20171117
002 McCormick Something To Believe In v2.1
As above, only this time the studio audio was synced to video from the Lorne Street rehearsal on November 14. Some of the video syncs really well, so the decision was made to get some more footage and I was tasked with putting a video together.
Availability: not circulated

20171123
003 McCormick Something To Believe In v5.10
I set about putting a proper promo together, using studio and rehearsal footage, plus clips from the Peterlee photo shoot. There were several versions, with the lads offering helpful suggestions, and it was tweaked quite a bit before it escaped.

20171204
004 McCormick Something To Believe In
A rehearsal at Hughie's PoW on December 4th was recorded on the Fostex, so an audio mix was dubbed onto video. Nothing special.
Availability: not circulated

005 Pete Gifford (virtually)
A video album of the same name, created purely so that I could put it on YouTube. The intention is to repeat the process with the other solo albums, as their 20th anniversaries occur.

20180216
006 McCormick  Why Did I Have To Do That?
Tasked once again to come up with the goods, I set about a promo for the next single. Some remits were in: men dancing, telephones, etc. It came together quickly. The final version was only the second one. The first had too many men on telephones and not enough live footage, but wasn't that different. A few tweaks and there it was.

20180413
007 McCormick Girl On The Bus video EP
008 McCormick Something About You
009 McCormick Addicted
010 McCormick Girl On The Bus
011 McCormick What To Do
These ones all go together as it was originally conceived as one 16 minute video EP. There were various pieces of related studio footage, some unrelated footage too, live footage and photo shoot footage. Ste then asked me to split them, which I did, although I think it caused a bit of out-of-syncing in places, but nothing major. I also had to put new intros and outros on the individual ones.

012 McCormick Make It Count (live at the Vault May 5 2018)
Titles were added on 20180512 but the video itself, by Rebecca Pedlow, was left unchanged. The gig was part of the Regent Live festival in Stockton. McCormick were on stage at around 3.15pm

in the pipeline (13.5.18):

Caution to the Wind live at the Mall. The gig was filmed with two cameras, and the audio direct from the PA. The idea at the time was to pay someone to put it all together. In 1995 this would have been a lot more difficult than it is now, and I can do it myself. Not a priority, though - no release date

As their 20th anniversaries approach, I will make YouTube videos for my solo albums:
(virtually) - DONE - available
Best kept secret - DONE - available October 2018
Collect - working on - available October 2018
Safe Inside - DONE - available October 2018
Light play - working on - available October 2018

McCormick live at Toft House January 2017. The debut gig was recorded on the Fostex. Audience members also provided enough video footage for about 85-90% of the gig. "Toft House - the movie" was compiled from the available video, which left the gig short by a couple of numbers. This video will attempt to rectify that, using the Fostex Audio and available video, with a bit of trickery - no release date

...and I have just set up a PGRS TTP web site. Still under development:
